Special Star Wars post for May the Fourth.. so forgive me for flying my geek flag but thought it would  make a good theme this evening.- Starting with a few outfits worn by Padme/Queen Amidala  in The Attack of the Clones- first outfit is her Pilots disguise seen at the very start of the movie- whilst second outfit also worn in Attack of the Clones is known as The dinner dress -I think George Lucas himself designed this one-It's unusual to see Natalie Portman in leather as she doesn't approve of it (hence the reason you hardly ever see her in movies wearing any) although she has worn faux leather jackets in the past - if  I to do a Natalie post someday hope I can find those pics.

Leeanna Walsman as shape-shifting Bounty Hunter Zam Wessell  again from Attack of the Clones - not my favourite Star Wars movie (that would be The Empire Strikes Back) but it's pity really they killed off her character - maybe they'll be more of her species in the next trilogy.-

I'm not one for expanded universe - there are so many books and comics out there it does get confusing after a while  but I did have time for Crimson Empire as it was drawn by Paul Gulacy  a fave of mine with beautifully rendered front covers by Dave Dorman- and I do have a thing for Mirith Sinn (a Rebel but you wouldn't of guessed with a name like that) the story revolved around a Royal Guard(those Red cool looking dudes)which is  always going to be a fascinating subject- I'm hoping they'll be a Crimson Empire 4 someday but seeing as this new trilogy that is to come out  I think that will be unlikely.

Another fiery redhead and EU character is Mara Jade it's highly unlikely she'll be in the new films -seeing as I think they are discarding the last twenty or so years that followed Return of the Jedi by other writers- she was the Emperors Assassin until she hit it off with Luke to eventually marry him - but I think the film makers will see it another way and make Luke like Obi Wan in a New Hope (more priest like and dedicated to the Force)

  2. You don't really see much purple in Star Wars films(unless its Mace Windu's lightsaber) - Prequels I guess was all about muted tones- rather than blacks and whites of the original trilogy- colours very important symbolically to these films -Zam's neither good nor bad just a hired gun so I think thats why they chose purple for her outfit.
