More stills from the second season of The Avengers (I'm really enjoying the boxset , very early television which by today's standards may seem very crude -back then editing was very expensive, so much of the drama is shot live which gives it an edge compared to the chorographed stuff on the tube these days ,I have to pay credit to Honor as she really acts her socks off in these early shows)each weekly episode you can see how the show evolves in structure and technique of filming,..though the sounds not too hot in parts,
I also have to pay credit to Nici who inspired me to come up with the idea to do this when I saw one of her posts on her blog last Saturday http://suburbanswirl.blogspot.com/2011/03/northbound.html
I'll see how far I can take this maybe up till The Tara King episodes or even the Purdey episodes in the New Avengers , I'll have to wait and see.

I don't know if we ever got the early Avengers in the US. I only remember the episodes with Diana Rigg.
ReplyDeleteMe too I was born 10 years after these were first broadcast ,so if they'd show the Avengers on TV it was the New Avengers stuff , then in late 80's and early 90's they showed re-runs of these shows , but mainly the Diana Rigg era .As for The Cathy Gale episodes I think they were first broadcast or made availiable on video tape in the U.S in 1991
